Showcase
The Los Angeles Figure Skating Club was the first club to conceive, host and popularize the concept of hosting a skating competition focused solely on theatrical skating. In 1974, the Los Angeles Figure Skating Club hosted the ground breaking Showcase For Skaters.
Inspired by the success of our inaugural Showcase for Skaters, showcase events and competitions sprung up around the country and culminated in the establishment of the National Showcase competition in 2004.
Showcase events and competitions, with their focus on entertainment, artistry and creativity, as opposed to technical elements, have been a source of wonderful entertainment for audiences and judges, and have provided many skaters the opportunity to explore their unbridled creativity, unfettered by the required technical aspects of competitive standard track skating events.
The Los Angeles Figure Skating Club is proud to have been a pioneer in the establishment of this very entertaining and crowd pleasing discipline.
