1. 2013 Graduating Seniors Program March 1st Deadline is fast approaching!

The March 1 deadline to apply for the 2013 Graduating Seniors Program is fast approaching and if you are a high school senior we encourage you to apply! The Graduating Seniors Program was developed to recognize the achievements of those seniors who have made the commitment to continue their figure skating training while pursuing their academic studies. U.S. Figure Skating is proud to honor graduating seniors by providing a certificate that can be presented during school graduation assemblies or other functions. To further applaud these achievements, all recipients will be listed on the Graduating Seniors Program page at U.S. Figure Skating Online and in SKATING magazine.

To be considered for this award, applicants must complete an online application before March 1.

2. 2013 Solo Dance Series Participant Registration March 8th Deadline is fast approaching!

The deadline for the popular 2013 Solo Dance Series is March 8, 2013! The Solo Dance Series, now in its third season, is a non-qualifying series of competitions that awards points to skaters within their section. The Series includes Solo Pattern Dance, Solo Combined Event and Solo Short Dance events through Aug. 18. The top skaters in each section and level will advance to National Solo Dance Championships, which will be held in Colorado Springs, Colo., in September 2013. This program serves as a membership and dance discipline development tool and is open to individual skaters within the Eastern, Midwestern and Pacific Coast sections.

The 2013 Solo Dance Series participant deadline to register as midnight MT, March 8.

Note: If skaters wish to compete in a participating Series competition and have their placement points count toward their total point accumulations, they must be registered with U.S. Figure Skating as Solo Dance Series participants prior to entering that particular competition. Skaters can elect to compete in the pattern dances, combined event, short dance or all events during the Series season
Solo Dance Series Registration costs $15. U.S. Figure Skating will not accept any late skater registrations in the Series.
