LAFSC Test Guidelines

Our regular test sessions are held at Pickwick as deemed necessary by the test chair. Additional test sessions are also sometimes held at our satellite rink at the East West Ice Palace in Artesia. All tests must be scheduled with the appropriate Test Chair at least THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE TEST to allow time to secure judges, however sessions may fill months in advance, and all testing is done on a first come, first serve basis, so be sure to send in your application as soon as possible. To ensure fairness, the postmark or the date you complete and pay for your online test Application form determines the order in which your test Application will be processed. Please note that you may not necessarily receive the test day you request if the test session has been filled prior to your request. You will be scheduled on the next available date if that is the case.

FOR ONLINE FORMS YOUR COACH MUST SUBMIT THE COACH PERMISSION FORM IN ORDER FOR YOUR APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETE! PLEASE BE SURE THEY SUBMIT THIS FORM AT THE TIME YOU SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION!

The test application and test fees must be submitted to the Test Chair before the test can be scheduled. Test application forms can be filled out online, downloaded and printed, or are available at the Pickwick Sport’s Shop, East West Ice Palace Box Office, or from the Test Chair.

If you are not a Home Club member, you MUST OBTAIN A LETTER OF PERMISSION FROM YOUR HOME CLUB in order to test at LAFSC. LAFSC Home Club members MUST OBTAIN A LETTER OF PERMISSION from LAFSC if they are taking a test at another club. This can be obtained from the membership chair.

Returned Check Policy

There will be a $25.00 returned check fee imposed for any returned check. LAFSC will promptly inform the check writer of the fact that their check has not cleared. Until a returned check is cleared, the skater’s skating and Club privileges are suspended, including the ability to participate in Club testing and/or competitions. If after 10 days of the notification of the returned check elapses, and the check writer has not made good on the funds, including all bank fees, then this fact will be reported to all applicable agencies/clubs, including but not limited to the Southern California Inter-Club Association, US Figure Skating, and a letter will be sent to all area clubs advising them of the skater’s suspended status with the Club. No letters of permission will be effective during this time. On the first instance of a returned check, the amount of the check, and the $25.00 returned check fee must be submitted to the Club Treasurer by means of cash, cashier’s check, or a money order. Following the second offense, the check writer/member will be on a cash-only basis for ten months, or until the end of the membership year, whichever is longer.
