U.S. FIGURE SKATING PARENT COMMITTEE WEBINAR ON SUPPORTING YOUR STUDENT ATHLETE – 2/25/16!

U.S. Figure Skating Parent Committee Webinar on Supporting Your Student Athlete!

Please join us on Thursday, February 25, at 5 p.m. PST to learn about strategies and ideas to balance academics and skating. As children progress through school, the demands of academic programs often seem to conflict with the demands of competitive skating. Jody Flatt, mother of Stanford graduate, former Olympic and World competitor and U.S. champion Rachael Flatt, will offer her experiences and insights about how her family was able to keep Rachael in a public school environment while training at an elite level.

Emmaline Repp, U.S. Figure Skating’s Coordinator, Giving Programs will also offer information about the various scholarship opportunities and recognition programs available to student athletes.

LAFSC SKATERS BRING THE CHAMPIONS TO THE CHAMPIONSHIPS!

12628473_10208313021004147_5422999224630720395_o

On behalf of our all our club members, I wish to express the sentiment that we are all very proud of the achievements of the team of young skaters from our Club who made the trip to St. Paul for the 2016 U.S. National Championships and who are coming home with TWO National Championships, ONE Silver medal, and TWO Pewter medals. In point of fact, all our team members skated great and had really fine efforts! Go Team LAFSC.

Another fortunate aspect that is quite apparent to us all, is that they are all great kids and it’s such a pleasure to see them develop as athletes and more importantly good people who understand the importance of hard work and giving your best effort. Bravo to you all!
