The LAFSC Jr. Council will be holding a silent auction at the Jacket Party on September 24th. The items to be auctioned were given to the Jr. Council from Jo Lawless’ estate. For those who don’t know, Jo Lawless was the LAFSC historian for years and she collected a great deal of skating memorabilia. I’ve attached pictures of many these items so you can get your bids ready!
Of significance is the 2011 US Figure Skating Hall of Fame trophy for Dona Lee Carrier from the 1961 US World Team. This is an item the club should consider placing in a trophy case for display. There are also vintage skates and blades that may be of value to a collector; the boxes stated they are circa 1865-1900. The majority of the items are personal items that consist of many Christmas ornaments and decorative wall plates.
