40TH ANNUAL SHOWCASE FOR SKATERS ANNOUNCEMENT AVAILABLE! REGISTRATION THROUGH ENTRYEEZE TO OPEN SHORTLY! COME BE A PART OF THE HISTORY!

Please join us for the Los Angeles Figure Skating Club's 40th ANNUAL SHOWCASE FOR SKATERS to held at the Pickwick Ice Center Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9, 2013. Attached is the Announcement. Registration will be through Entryeeze and the link will be up shortly. The entry deadline is May 17, 2013.

In effort to align our events with National Showcase guidelines, we have refined our Announcement.

    We encourage you to read the Announcement carefully for any potential changes which may affect you. Please read the Chart on page 2, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Please note the revised clarification regarding the Pre-Star levels and Star levels!

GOOD LUCK TO LOS ANGELES ICE THEATER!

We would like to extend our best wishes to the award winning and exceptionally talented Los Angeles Ice Theater as they head to Spain to compete in the third Nations Cup to be held in Logrono, Spain, April 26-28, 2013! They were selected by U.S. Figure Skating last June to represent the United States in this very prestigious competition, along with three other U.S. Senior TOI teams. We wish all our skaters a safe journey to Spain. Have great skates and enjoy your time in Spain! GO LAIT!! LAFSC will be rooting for you back home.

LAFSC SKATERS COME AWAY WITH SEVEN NATIONAL TITLES AT THE 2013 U.S. ADULT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!

As the competition at the 2013 U.S. Adult Figure Skating Championships in Scottsdale, AZ came to a conclusion, LAFSC skaters proved their competitive mettle and have come away with seven, yes count them seven, National titles.

Congratulations to our 2013 U.S. Adult National Champions: Julie Gidlow, Jenna Graciano, Michael Rubke (2), Jamie Tanker and Sharidan Williams-Sotelo (2). What a fantastic acheivement for these skaters. We are honored and so very pleased to have you as members of our club and hope you your experience was terrific! Please be certain to plan on attending our Annual Club Recognition Ceremony this fall where your achievements will be honored and you will receive the accolades and recognition from your club that you efforts certainly deserve. We hope to see you there! Kudos to everyone!

Overall, our club skaters skated away from these Championships with several podium finishes and personal best performances. TEAM LAFSC did rock Scottsdale and lived up to the tradition of excellence our club has manifested over the years! The following is a complete recap of our skaters’ achievements! LAFSC ADULT SKATERS SHINE IN SCOTTSDALE. FOUR NATIONAL CHAMPIONS WERE CROWNED TODAY!

As many of you know, many of our adult skaters are participating in the 2013 US Adult Figure Skating Championships which began Wednesday, April 10, 2013 and continue through Saturday, April 13, 2014. To date we have had several medalists, including four National Champions being crowned today! This keeps our club’s streak alive of having at least one National Champion every year since 1983. Congratulations to our newly minted National Champions: Jenna Graciano, Michael Rubke, Jamie Tanker and Sharidan Williams-Sotelo!

SAVE THE DATE! LAFSC SHOWCASE FOR SKATERS! 40TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION! JUNE 8 & 9, 2013!

Please be sure to save the date for LAFSC’s 40th Anniversary Edition of SHOWCASE FOR SKATERS – the original and ground breaking Theatrical Figure Skating Competition!

LAFSC’s Showcase For Skaters was the first figure skating competition of its genre, and was first developed and held by the Los Angeles Figure Skating Club in 1974. Showcase For Skaters focuses on the theatrical and artistic side of figure skating, and affords skaters unlimited possibilities to entertain an enthusiastic audience. It is truly a competition that is as much fun to skate in as it is to watch!

This year’s competition will be held June 8 & 9, 2013 at Pickwick Ice Center. We will offer a full slate of events to participate in: singles, duets, small groups, production groups and TOI! We encourage skaters of all abilities to participate. This is a competiton about showmanship and entertainment! We hope to see you there!

Let the entertainment begin and the tradition continue!

2013 SPRING FESTIVAL OF CHAMPIONS MONTAGE.

We held our 2013 Spring Festival of Champions on Sunday, March 17, 2013, to celebrate this past year’s LAFSC champion skaters at Pickwick Ice Center. We were treated to some great performances by several of our LAFSC champions from competitions this past year. Attached is a montage of the event.
