CONGRATULATIONS TO KAROLINA CALHOUN & ELLA ALES! DAY 1 OF PACIFIC COAST SECTIONALS BEGINS!

The 2013 Pacific Coast Sectionals in Provo, Utah began today. The Los Angeles Figure Skating club extends congratulations to Karolina Calhoun and Ella Ales who started the event with a bang! Competing in the Juvenile Ladies division, Karolina and Ella brought home the Gold and Bronze Medals respectively and qualified for the 2013 US National Championships in Omaha, Nebraska. We here at the Los Angeles Figure Skating Club are so proud of your efforts Karolina and Ella. All your hard work is paying off! Congratulations on making the 2013 US Nationals Team. What an achievement! We’ll be rooting for you in Omaha!

Several other of our LAFSC skaters competed today. The following is a recap of today’s events:

Daniel Samohin and Paolo Borromeo currently stand in first and second place after the Novice Men’s short programs! Way to go guys! Also competing in Novice Men are: Darian Weiss (8th after the short) and Sahmaro Rockhold (9th after the short). Good luck to you guys! Have a great long program!

In Junior Dance, Yura Min (with partner Igor Ogay) is currently in 2nd place after the short dance, and Emily Day and Kevin Leahy are currently in 5th place going into the Free Dance! Good luck Yura, Emily and Patrick in the Free Dance!

Cheyenne Taylor is currently in 7th place in Novice Ladies. Good luck in the long Cheyenne!

In Novice Dance, Lauren Leonesio with partner Quinn Chambers are currently in 2nd place after the compulsory dances, and Devin Perini with partner Anna Li are currently in 5th place. Good luck Lauren and Devin in the Free Dance!

In Intermediate Dance, Alexis Middleton with partner Michael Valdez are in first place, and Logan Leonesio with partner Cassidy Klopstock are in second place heading into the Free Dance. Good luck Alexis and Logan in the Free Dance!

In Intermediate Ladies Isabella Smit is currently in sixth place after the short program. Good luck Izzy! Have a great long!
