LAFSC SKATERS CONTINUE TO SHINE IN SALT LAKE CITY!

The first medals were awarded Saturday, September 15 at the 2012 U.S. Challenge Skate, as the novice ladies, pairs and dance events concluded in Salt Lake City, and skaters from LAFSC were on the podium in each event we had skaters in.

 

In Novice Pairs, LAFSC’s Elise Middleton and Robert Hennings finished atop the podium. Skating their long program to “Immortal Beloved”, Elise & Robert won their free skate event by more than nine points over the second place team, and finished the competition leading the field by over twelve points! Great job! Congratulations to Elise and Robert and coach Peter Oppegard!

In the Novice Ladies event, Cheyenne Taylor, skated a strong free program and came home with the Silver Medal. Congratulations Cheyenne! We miss you back in Los Angeles, but are so happy to see that you are skating great and enjoying your new training location!

In Novice Dance, LAFSC’s Lauren Leonesio and partner Quinn Chambers came away with a Bronze Medal after the free dance! Congratulations to Lauren!

In the Junior Ladies event, Amanda Gelb moved up from her short program placement, and finished placed in fifth place overall after her free skate. Congratulations Amanda!

In the U.S. International Classic segment of the Salt Lake City competition, Don Baldwin and partner Tiffany Vise took home the Bronze in Senior Pairs. Congratulations to Don and Tiffany!

What a great weekend for our skaters. All of us at the Los Angeles Figure Skating club wish you all continued success this season!
