LAFSC SKATERS LEAD THE WAY AT US CHALLENGE SKATE EVENT IN SALT LAKE CITY!

Several of our LAFSC skaters began their competition at the U.S. Challenge Skate on Thursday, as novice skaters took the ice in Salt Lake City for the pattern dance and the ladies and pairs short programs. The Challenge Skate event is being held in conjunction with the U.S. International Figure Skating Classic.

In the Novice Pairs event, LAFSC skaters Elise Middleton and Robert Hennings lead the event after the pairs short program with their Skaters Waltz program. They currently lead the field by more than 3 points. Go Elise and Robert! Elise and Robert are coached by LAFSC lifetime member and Olympic Bronze Medalist, Peter Oppegard.

In the Novice Ladies event, LAFSC’s Cheyenne Taylor is currently in second place going into Saturday’s free skate. Cheyenne landed a triple lutz combination in her short program. Awesome Cheyenne! Have a great free skate!

In the Novice Dance event, LAFSC’s Lauren Leonesio with partner Quinn Chambers are currently in second place after their Starlight Waltz Pattern Dance. Lauren and Quinn will complete their competition with Saturday’s free dance. Go Lauren!

LAFSC’s Amanda Gelb will be competing on Friday morning in the Junior Ladies event in the U.S. International Figure Skating Classic portion of this event. Good luck Amanda! We’re rooting for you back home!

GO TEAM LAFSC! We are so proud of all of your efforts!
