No More Wednesday Club Sessions

Effective immediately, we will no longer be having club sessions on Wed evenings. Unfortunately, due to the long standing and continually diminishing attendance on Wednesday evenings and the costs associated with same, we have come to an agreement with Pickwick to host our LAFSC Club Sessions on Saturday mornings beginning Saturday, October 1, 2011. We will hold two 45 minute sessions from: 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and from 11:15 a.m to 12:00 p.m.

We will be using a punchcard system similar to the one currently utilized by Pickwick for their freestyle sessions. Please note that you will not be able to use your Pickwick punchcards to skate LA Club sessions. We will send you further details on this in a separate e-mail.

At this time, you must be at least a second club LAFSC member to skate these sessions. Priority will be given to LAFSC skaters.

If you are not a member of the club you may have a maximum of three “walk on guest sessions”. After you have skated three guest sessions without joining the club, and if you wish to continue to skate on these sessions, you must be at least a second club LA Club member. Again, LA club members will be given priority to skate these sessions.

Only LA home club or LA second club coaches who have received advance permission by the Board to teach on these sessions will be allowed to coach on these sessions. If you have not previously been given permission to teach on LA Club sessions and you are a member of the club, please contact me for further information.

It is our intention to run these sessions consecutively and to attempt to secure additional monthly ice times for testing. If for some reason, for one particular month we are unable to do so, we will take one Saturday a month to utilize for testing if absolutely necessary. We will endeavor to let you know well in advance if it is necessary to utilize a club ice freestyle session to run tests so that you can organize your skating schedule.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best wishes,

Michael Cruz
LAFSC President
